I just would like to know some peoples opinions on the series. it seems like people either love them or hate them.

Its Stephenie Meyers Mormon fantasy where she inserts herself into the protagonists role in the most hamfisted fashion imaginable. Its a story about a beautiful girl who thinks shes ugly, who is loved by everyone in the school and thinks shes unpopular, but with the lovable quirk of her adorable clumsiness. She has no faults and is pure as the driven snow. So when a vampire comes to her and says that shes special, she falls madly in love with him. But these arent your normal vampires. Theyre also pure and good and sweet, because they feed off mountain lions.brbrAnd when they go out into the sun, they glitter like marble statues polished with rainbows.brbrIts truly an incredible story, right up there with the best of Faulkner.brbrPretty much everything Edward does is extremely creepy when done in any sort of real life situation, and pretty much everything Bella does in response is the exact opposite of what she should do.brbrI mean, really, who gets stopped mid argument by their significant others beautiful eyes? No one, thats who. The books paint an extremely unrealistic picture of romance and what a woman should expect in a partner, and, quite frankly, its sickening to me that so many little girls are reading this and thinking its what love is really like. brbrStephenie Meyer isnt an author. She doesnt understand what an author is or what an authors purpose is. Shes a writer who tells cliche, vastly underdeveloped, silly love stories that imitate her own romantic fantasies. She capitalizes off of hormonal teenage girls.
